Terms of Use
1. Where the real terms live
Most of what a "Terms" page is expected to answer is governed by dedicated documents that already exist on this site:
- Software licence terms — the End User Licence Agreement (published as a working draft pending counsel review) governs every Rendlio licence: the per-entity grant, tiers, the perpetual release-date rule, renewals, and the binding no-telemetry promise.
- Purchases — paid licences are sold by Paddle as merchant of record. The purchase transaction — ordering, payment, invoicing, taxes, and refund processing — is a contract between you and Paddle under Paddle's buyer terms. Rendlio Association is Paddle's supplier and grants the licence directly.
- Refunds — the refund policy: 30-day money-back on paid licences, no reasons required.
- Source licence — the engine's public source is licensed under BUSL-1.1; see the licensing overview.
- Founding offer — the validation-phase offer is governed by the Founding Offer Terms.
2. Site terms — decided substance, drafting pending
The terms governing the use of rendlio.com itself are with counsel. Their intended substance follows from how the site is built, and is already decided:
- No accounts. The site has no login, no user profiles, and no stored user content beyond what the playground processes transiently.
- Playground uploads are transient. Files submitted to the playground are processed for conversion only and deleted within one hour. They are never used for anything else. See the privacy page.
- Site content is informational. Documentation describes the specified behaviour of the Rendlio engine, which is pre-alpha; nothing on this site is a warranty beyond what the EULA states, and nothing here modifies the EULA or Paddle's buyer terms.
- Acceptable use. Do not attempt to disrupt the site or its playground, probe it for vulnerabilities outside a responsible disclosure to security@rendlio.com, or submit files you have no right to process.
3. Operator
This website is operated by the Rendlio Association (Verein Rendlio), Aarau, Switzerland — see the association page. Governing law and forum for the site terms will be stated in the counsel-issued version; the EULA draft provides for Swiss law and the courts at the association's seat.
